The Next Terrorist Attack
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 09:59 PM by Peake
Let's go out there rather a ways and consider what will and should happen.

-Are they sick little monkeys? Look at the bones, man!
-"Why We Fight" by Eugene Jarecki
-Shuffling Money
-What to expect from BushCo
-What we should do to prepare

-Are they sick little monkeys? Look at the bones, man!

Let’s face it, BushCo have perhaps purposely created the next major attack upon the United States through empire-building and the brazen invasion and abuses of the Iraqi people. They have created more enemies than friends and this demands consideration of what “more enemies” will actually do in response to the situations that have made them our enemies.

Why would they “purposely” create another terrorist attack? They seem to be international businessmen with a duplicitous, sadistic bent, they have declared a “New World Order” and may perhaps care nothing for other human lives. Worst possible case, it may actually amuse them to have people give their lives while seizing the resources BushCo desire. Transcripts of Nixon regarding the war point to purposeful sadism.(1) This is a sick thing to have to consider, but you must add up the lies and lack of consideration for human life they have exhibited in Iraq and New Orleans (and Bush as Governor of Texas). It is supposition, but you must “look at the bones, man!” and decide for yourself. There are indeed sick, selfish, destructive people in the world, and they leave massive suffering in their wake. Have BushCo? Decide for yourself, and then look toward the future. They make money directly from continuous war. Anything that requires continuous war puts money into their friends' pockets. There is a conflict of interest here, no pun intended.

-"Why We Fight" by Eugene Jarecki

The excellent documentary “Why We Fight”(2), highly recommended including all of the additional material and audio commentary, details the money-making machine that is the military-industrial complex and the threat that it poses. The filmmaker goes so far as to say that there is no genius/monster causing Iraq and other issues to occur, that it is likely just the self-sustaining actions of this financial organism in action.

Apologies to Mr. Jarecki, whom I -highly- respect thanks to this excellent, must-see film, but it bears merit to consider the possibility that from World War 2 onwards that businessmen, some of whom played both sides, saw worldwide opportunities for cornering markets and resources and intended to act. Combine heads of the government-toppling, puppet-installing CIA as well as the long-term focus and destructive threat of Gingrich and friends, and one must consider how far those who wish to control everything will actually go in order to achieve the goal. And how emotionally damaged such people have to be in order to consider such goals in the first place. Some people just like to cause trouble in any form, as they feel powerless and resentful. Too bad that they don't mind when New Orleans drowns, but they seemingly didn't. They certainly don't care about Iraqi civilians or the number of US troops who will lose their lives.

-Shuffling Money

Consider the speed with which the “Patriot Act” appeared after 9/11, opportunism in full swing. Compare that to the speed with which they captured Bin Laden, the ring leader of the attacks. Librarians may be forced to turn in lending lists, but the perpetrator of the attacks walks free. Is it too trite to invoke aspects of "1984"? The reason we are in Iraq, "staying the course", is that billions of dollars are being shuffled from the taxpayer's US Treasury directly into the pockets of BushCo friends. Of course, there is no end in sight, so long as there is money to be had. Over 50% of our federal tax dollars go straight to the military, I'd once heard. Looks like the rest of it ends up there as well.

-What to expect from BushCo

There is word that BushCo had plans to steal Iraq before they even entered office. The obvious opportunism we've seen since then (illegal wiretaps, "Patriot Act", Guantanomo, Abu Gharaib, control of Iraqi oil, etc.) is highly questionable in comparison to actually capturing Bin Laden. They have seemingly purposefully missed the point, and they and their friends have profited wildly, to the tune of continuing billions of dollars, record Exxon profits, social restrictions, theft of elections, etc.

We can only expect more of the same in the seemingly inevitable event of another, larger terrorist attack. If BushCo, worst possible case, are actually tempting another attack ("bring 'em on") with lengthy trashing of Muslim nations, there will indeed be another attack at some point. We would see BushCo braying endlessly about how it is proof that we need them, which would ignore the fact that another attack occured on their watch. They would invoke the date endlessly in order to justify more power grabs (ignoring that the threat is external and also partially the result of lax security efforts, despite the billions they spend in Iraq). They would profit from the destablization of the economy, if it were to cause such reeling as 9/11 did. Would oil prices skyrocket? It does upon unfounded fear; how about regarding real fear? Exxon makes more money. Bush's friends in OPEC make more money.

We'd also likely see problems regarding the troops in Iraq as they fish about for a target (Iran and all its oil spring to mind, especially since they've been selling Iran as the Next Bad Guy in the same manner they sold Iraq). If they invade Iran, count upon an extremely unpopular draft (the destruction of Pell and other education grants can be considered a form of draft in itself).

Fear the possibility of any sort of national patriot security force to aid the over-stretched National Guard and Army/Army Corps of Engineers. Screen vigorously for NRA and Aryan Nation members. The same goes for any blow-up regarding immigration issues.

Someone follow the money in the event of another terrorist attack. It would be interesting to note if any large sums turn up missing. There is word that some $8.8 billion went missing in Iraq.

There is also the sad possibility of "War pResident" Bush claiming a 3rd term on war powers. You don't have to steal an election if there isn't one.

We can mainly expect plenty of politisation of the event, and little action on the behalf of the injured. These are the same people who say "support our troops", then send them back against their will, and cut Veteran's benefits.

If there is a Government response, it will be in the form of Halliburton-type opportunism and grants. We just don't need that. It is a problem that requires resolution.

-What we should do to prepare

Most sadly, we can expect another New Orleans regarding inept to non-existent Government aid. We really need to inventory medical supply houses, clothes and supplies of sanitation, water distribution, and alternate housing for the survivors. We need tax credit for any business that donates, to encourage freeflowing supplies. We need adequate housing, communications and transportation in and out of a disaster zone. Outlying hospitals will be overloaded, so adequate medical transport will be required.

Basically, we need to be prepared to help each other fully without expectation of further assistance. Disaster relief agencies need to network between cities in the same manner that fire engines sometimes are sent to adjacent townships when the need arises. The books on Katrina and New Orleans point to the existence of highly competent, eager, and ignored experts who should be brought together on this subject and allowed to blue sky it. These people are extremely competent; we should encourage them to network, and to find funding for what is needed from sources outside the government.

If we get lucky and there is no follow-up to 9/11, then all of this still applies in the event of a massive natural disaster within the country.

We should also force the government to pause regarding any quick military response, to avoid another Iraq or worse. We'll need to shout down any quick and easy finger-pointing on their part. We'll need to resist the further theft of personal freedom, when an enemy is external, and internal (billions into Iraq but little into port security etc.). The same sorts of things as regards 9/11, but this time we'd have to actually be effective in uniting about it.

Remember that the economy could go to shit as a result. We would need to consider that they may propose shuffling large amounts of money to pay for rebuilding and for military response. Like that yummy Social Security money that they drool over. I for one believe no promises on their part regarding anything other than serving themselves.

There of course is more, this is just an initial "we have to consider it" posting. Remember, I'm just a clown, this is humor, and Agent Mike can relax and have a Coke and a smile.
