As outsourcing continues, India could be looking at a severe skilled worker shortage by 2010. India Trade Organization Nasscom reported that in four years India could be half a million workers short of what the country needs to keep up with projected growth. The country needs 1 million more IT workers in order to maintain its current market share. Currently 2.3 million Indians work in the countries Information technology industry, many employed by U.S. Corporations seeking to cut costs by outsourcing work.

1. with the Dems controlling both houses, maybe the shortage in India
won't be such a problem due to our jobs staying here.

5. If there's a skilled labor shortage,
to get the skilled labor available the cost of labor will go up.

This will cause more unskilled Indians to get training, cause jobs to go to some other country where there is untapped skilled labor, and either of those will increase the costs of doing business overseas. Either of these things might be a good thing: It'll make outsourcing overseas less attractive.
