"This is not your father's Republican Party"

Thought-provoking editorial from a Nevada paper.

"In the end, this wasn't a victory for Democrats, but for the independents and the moderates from each party who were pushed aside by the extremists pandering to their respective bases. The Democratic leaders better realize this, or in two years they will be the ones looking for new jobs."

3. Sorry, but it's a victory for the Liberals.
The Repubs and the not-so-Liberal media are working overtime to convince the country and themselves that this election was not a Liberal victory. Sorry, but it was a Liberal victory and this is because Liberal is mainstream. Never mind the war for a minute. From health care to the environment to the budget to the economy poll after poll has shown that "liberal" positions are supported by the majority of Americans.

America's roots are liberal, Hell, revolutionary, and the circumstances of our birth have guided our outlook and our institutions ever since. Is there room for Conservatives? Sure. We Dems have no lock on honesty and morality. We've been thrown out before and deservedly so. But Conservatism by its very nature is antithesis of what America is all about.

4. Just another whiner that can't accept a DEM victory at face value
and is trying to twist it to somehow validate to his or her own bias. A very, very common MSM epidemic in times like these.
