Ahmadinejad: Israel's destruction is near
According to the Iranian media Monday, Iranian President Mahoud Ahmadinejad declared that Israel was destined to ‘disappearance and destruction’ at a council meeting with Iranian ministers.

“The western powers created the Zionist regime in order to expand their control of the area. This regime massacres Palestinians everyday, but since this regime is against nature, we will soon witness its disappearance and destruction,” Ahmadinejad said. (AFP)

1. Old news
This was widely commented on yesterday.

Also, just because he says Israel's destruction is near, doesn't mean that he intends to cause it to happen. There are many who believe the end of the USA is near because of our policies. Hell, there are quite a few religious nuts who think because of our "moral decline", the United States will be destroyed soon. Doesn't mean that these whackjobs are going to set off nukes.

4. True, but I don't see Iran doing that
Iran isn't the one threatening to attack. At no time has Iran said they were going to be causing Israel's destruction. There's a huge difference between arming those who are involved in a conflict and actually getting involved yourself. And there is an even bigger difference between providing short-range rockets to Hezbollah and providing nukes or radioactive material to Hezbollah. Iran isn't stupid, they know they would be sealing their own fate by doing the latter.
