Iraqi Residents Welcome Resistance 'With Flowers' - Must Read
Women ululate. Children clap. Men raise their fists in the air and shout "Allah Akbar." And two young men approach and hand the masked "mujahideen" bouquets of flowers.
Such treatment was once supposed to be reserved for U.S. "liberation" troops. At least that's what American leaders thought before they sent their soldiers into the hell of Iraq.

But conditions today are just the opposite of what the current White House had in mind when they used every trick and lie in the book to sell their Iraq mission.

<snip>

No sane Iraqi today would even utter the word "liberation." No sane Iraq would look at American occupation troops as "liberators." In the eyes of most Iraqis, and this is really unfortunate to say, Americans are viewed as thieves, gangsters and thugs who have come to rape and molest women and girls, abuse prisoners, and destroy cities and residential districts one after the other.

4. None but the most mendacious and disingenuous of the human species would call
an invasion and occupation which destroys a nation's infrastructure and kills and maims its citizens by the boatload a "liberation."

2. Man, I hate to read that...even just your snips makes me sad...
I am going to read the rest, but I am already depressed by just the few paragraphs you posted. I wish the Iraqi people peace and prosperity...how we got here I have no clue..well an idiot in the white house is probably the most likely cause, but it does not change that I am completely upset that we can do nothing to help the Iraqi people.

5. Aganst...I got so upset, I went to the orginal article from an
Iraq newspaper site. I tried to find an email so I could apologize. No such luck. I feel frustrate and so sad about their lives.

Think if this happened to us? Think if they hated * so much, they came to the US? Can you imagine?

3. Oddly, your link is just a reposting, with a different title.
Fortunately, it links back to the source: http://www.azzaman.com/english/index.asp?fname=editorial\2006-11-15\kurd1.htm

8. I appreciate hearing the term "resistance fighters" used. So much more honest
than what the corporate media used from the beginning.

Every word in it is necessary, and heart-felt. Eloquent. Truthful.

It's so sad that the writer reminds us that not only is Bush concerned with satisfying his own strategy for his interests in Iraq, he also intends to harm both Iran and Syria on its borders.

As of the writing, there are 26,000,000 people left in Iraq. You have to wonder how many of them will be left when this ugly Bush/Neocon blood thirst has been completely quenched.
