Organizing meeting, tomorrow night: 7pm Thurs (12/7): 2619 Humanities
Rumsfeld is gone! Now it's time to get the troops home!
We, the undersigned, are asking everyone who opposes the U.S. occupation ofIraq to attend an urgent organizing meeting - hosted by the Campus AntiwarNetwork on Thursday night - to mobilize students for an anti-war demonstration on January 27 in Washington D.C. On that day, hundreds of thousandswill rally outside Congress and the White House to demand an end to the war in Iraq.
UW-Madison must contribute its voice to the call for Peace. We cannot put our faith in the politicians to bring our troops home. The Democratic Congress KNOWS America wants Peace; now we've got to hold their feet to the fire. We owe it to the Iraqi people and the American troops dying in Iraq to rebuild the anti-war movement, and to rebuild it now.
The nation-wide rejection of the Republican Party, watching Rumsfeld pack his bags and seeing Bush get the "thumping" he deserved, has brought new hopes and expectations to millions around the world.
We have an historic opportunity to tap into this anti-war sentiment and turn it into action! We need EVERYONE who wants to see an end to this war spreading the word far and wide. Attend this important meeting, bring your friends, and help bring an end to this distructive war.
Buy your tickets online and help us find donations for those who can't. Visit www.revoltingstudents.com tickets/donations.
Signed,
Todd Dennis Secretary, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Chapter 7 Activist, Veterans For Peace, Chapter 25
