Do NOT make Elizabeth Kucinich mad (and write a check while you're at it)
http://www.cleveland.com/weblogs/openers/Some radio listeners get mad when the subjects they hold dear -- and the people they love -- are disparaged on the airwaves. Dennis Kucunich's wife, Elizabeth, did one better. She sent out a mass e-mail this morning telling Kucinich-for-president supporters to call and e-mail public radio station WCPN and complain...
"Call WCPN today at 1-877-399-3307 and DEMAND that they provide the
Cleveland area with the real facts about the Department of Peace and that
Moulthrop apologize to Congressman Kucinich for belittling such an
ambitious and widely supported legislative proposal. Urge them to read the
Department of Peace legislation...
WCPN invites Kucinich to respond
In response to the calls and e-mail generated at least in part by Dennis Kucinich's wife, Elizabeth Kucinich, who took offense when her husband was called a "clown" and "lazy," WCPN sent an e-mail to listeners this afternoon. It said the program under attack, "Sound of Ideas," does not endorse politicians or political positions and is dedicated to thorough, balanced and civil discussion -- which it believes is being achieved.
To have a thorough airing of the issue in question here -- Kucinich's proposed Department of Peace, his work as a congressman, and perhaps his demeanor and work focus -- the program has invited Kucinich to respond. (Update: Kucinich has accepted. He'll be on at 9 a.m. Tuesday, his spokeswoman says, to discuss his Department of Peace idea. Asked if he'll talk about the criticism of being a "clown" and "lazy," spokeswoman Natalie Laber said, "He will not be addressing those issues.")...

was deafening It's been a quiet week in woebegone Washington...
...Here's how Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, defines the difference: "The nonbinding resolution is like putting your foot on the brake for a moment and a few weeks later, putting your foot on the accelerator."
"Congress has a chance to do something real on the war," says Kucinich. "A nonbinding resolution just doesn't cut it."
And that's the news from woebegone Washington where the Senate is hamstrung, the House is hopeful and the President is below average.
