3. If he lived in a major east coast city

where crossfire from gangs is a problem, he might have a few second thoughts on the wisdom of allowing every felon, cretin, and nutcase to exercise that "god" given right (somehow, I don't see Jesus packing heat, do you?).

I was very antigun in Boston. I was sick of them.

Out west is a different story. This is bear, cougar and rattlesnake country and folks who live outside town need something to fire over a bear or big cat's head to discourage them from dining out of the garbage cans but be able to drop them if they charge*.

Nugent strikes me as just one more fool who has confused a gun with that most beloved part of his own anatomy. That alone should disqualify him.


*as a practical matter, few bears or big cats are killed out here except by animal control. Most are sensible enough to leave very quickly at the warning shot.
