"Boren argued that after expelling Iraqi troops from Kuwait, U.S. forces should go to Iraq and depose Saddam Hussein.

The elder Bush told Boren that such action might lead to civil war, and he asked Boren what his exit strategy would be. Boren told the president that he didn't have one.

The elder Bush also told Boren the only country that would benefit from an invasion would be Iran, Boren said in an interview with The Oklahoman."

"You realize how wise that Bush team was, and you realize how quickly this Bush team rushed to judgment," Boren said. "

Here in OK, David Boren continues to weild much wieght, both in higher education as president of OU, but also as about as much of an elder statesman as we have since Carl Albert. He is quoted in the lead editorial in the Tulsa World this morning regarding a discussion he had with Bush I after the first war. Boren, and others, were pushing for the march into Baghdad.

Just add this to the mountains of evidence that * acted alone, neo con driven, a puppet of those who hunger for war, but choose not to be personally dirtied by war.
