Supported by Republicans, Obama Takes Lead in Presidential Race
http://usliberals.about.com/b/a/257900.htm?nl=1

Sen. Barack Obama is THE leading 2008 presidential candidate, per a late May 2007 Zogby poll.

Reported the Angus-Reid Global Monitor:

"At least 46 per cent of respondents would support the Illinois senator in head-to-head contests against four prospective Republican nominees.

"Obama holds a three-point edge over Arizona senator John McCain, a six-point lead over former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, and a 17-point advantage over both former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and actor and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson.

"In other contests, both New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and former North Carolina senator John Edwards lead Romney and Thompson, but trail Giuliani and McCain."
The reason for Sen. Obama's dominance against potential Republican 2008 contenders for the White House? Republicans themselves.

Republicans for Obama

Seems that the senator from Illinois is rapidly developing a following among Republicans disenchanted with their own party's candidates.

In fact, one of the fastest growing campaign websites is Republicans for Obama, which presently counts chapters in 11 states, including Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania and Colorado.

And now comes word that Republican Colin Powell may join the Obama for President groundswell.

OBAMA COULD BE THE ANTI-LIEBERMAN, IF HE WANTS TO.

3. I respect what Obama has done
however, since when do you trust rethugs even when they seem to be doing the right thing. Maybe the rove and his cohorts are fanning this support, and want to run against him. As for Powell, When he made that speech at the UN and we all knew it was lies, it made me distrust him and that has not changed. He was doing the dance on the talk shows, if he is so smart how could he not know it was a pack of lies. When the rethugs do something like this, it is time to check our collective backs for the knife.

5. Ahhh! I love the smell of paranoia in the morning!
But just because somebody is paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't being followed. Or, there's the good one: "Help! I'm being followed by paranoids". Now if we could only figure out if the Republicans want us to nominate Senator Clinton or Obama. Or are they giving us the double reverse with a twist?

6. But this refers to republicon voters... not politicians.
Maybe, just maybe, the right Democtratic candidate will make them former republicons... forever.

It's good news for Senator Obama. I hope he drags more people into the our party.
