Florida is Being Sold Off to Jeb's Buddies
...
Convergys also made empty promises to hire adversely affected state workers. As Bill Cotterell pointed out, only 25 former state workers have been hired. Coincidentally, Convergys was the single largest contributor to Bush's inauguration shindig. It is also interesting to note that Convergys is opening a 3,000-employee call center in India, although it denies that any Florida jobs are being relocated there.

Didn't former Attorney General Bob Butterworth ban Arthur Andersen from state contracts? Accenture is merely a former affiliate in new clothes. It is headquartered in the tax haven of Bermuda. Fewer than a dozen of Accenture's 75,000 worldwide employees actually work there.

1. Republicans are staunch cronyist.
They don't even try to hide it anymore. I hope the Dems, when they get back into office, don't allow these pirates to claim rights on the public buildings and resources that they've been pilfering.

3. Heh heh heh...
Jebbie's likely to be disappointed. Canadians have started deliberately avoiding vacationing in Florida in recent years for several reasons:

Too crowded--the place is so over-developed that there's more concrete than sand.
Too dangerous--several well-publicized murders of vacationing Canadians have really cut into business.
Too expensive--You have to spend US dollars, and everything's priced through the roof.
Lousy company--full of fat redneck Americans.

So where have Canadians been going that's less crowded, much safer, far less expensive, and free of Americans? You guessed it--CUBA!

HAR HAR--Take a BIG one, Jebbie!

Has been involved is so many multi-million dollar rip offs. But nothing tops the $300,000,000.00 Enron swindle of the state pension fund.

6. Convergys
Long ago I worked for Convergys.

They were mismanaged and they paid their employees nothing.

I remember one guy who had formerly been a bus driver for Disney World - he was in a training class for inbound call center tech support. He had quit his bus driver job and spent all of his money going to ITT Tech for a new "IT Career" - ITT placed him at Convergys.

At 9 bucks an hour this guy was convinced his new IT career had arrived.

It was sad.
