I'm really sick of hearing the word change being thrown around like confetti. Everyone is cloying around trying to sell us as the biggest agent of change. Change how? Changing what? That word is meaningless at this point without details. I feel like every time that word comes up I can switch my brain off for 30 seconds while they yammer on. I'm sure that I'm not the only DUer who is tired of the lip service being paid by every campaign about changing America.

1. And not just when it's used in politics. When your employer starts |

throwing the word around, as in "agent of change" or "change is good" or "change is inevitable" -- look out. It's a buzz word that means things are going to change for the worse, usually. And if you don't like that particular change, why, you are an old fuddy-duddy who is "resistant to change."
What you want to tell them is that "change" can be helpful or harmful, and we'd like you to discuss that aspect, and not jump all over us for being fuddy-duddies. It's a way of cutting off discussion of whatever is being implemented.

It's like watching Eddie Murphy's Delirious. At first you're put off by how many F-bombs he throws out. By the end you don't even notice it because it's lost all of its shock value.

6. You've got to dance with the girl that brought you |

But when she walks out with another guy it's time to get some new moves. I could take this analogy a lot farther, but I won't bore you with more lame jokes.
