Hari: What wouldn't Clinton do to secure power? (Seattle P-I)
Why did it take us so long to see them for what they are? Partly, it is because the Clintons were blessed with a parade of even greater grotesques as enemies. The right couldn't attack the Clintons on their genuine scandalous behavior, because they supported it all: the executions, the abolition of benefits, the crackdowns. So they contrived nonsense scandals, like Whitewater and Monicagate. Today, many of them are serving up stale sexism against Hillary: right-wing host Tucker Carlson has announced, "There's something about her that feels castrating, overbearing and scary."

And partly, it is because the nightmare of the Bush years has made even the Clinton years seem like a halcyon heyday.

Think about the symbolism for the watching world if the Clintons manage to snatch this nomination. The people in a majority of states in America will have shown they are ready to embrace a black man as president -- only for some white guys in suits to hand it to the wife of the ex-president. Their arguments in their own defense will seem feeble. The idea that Hillary is more "experienced" seems to me both anti-feminist and untrue. How does being married to a man make you "experienced" in his job? As the stand-up comedian Chris Rock said in a recent gig, "I don't get it. I've been married for 10 years -- but if my wife came out here on stage now, you wouldn't laugh."

1. The Best Thing That Ever Happened for Bill Clinton
was to have his Presidency planted between two Bushes.

2. What took so long? I dunno, after she backstabbed John Kerry on 10/31/06,
it was perfectly clear to me.

4. the left-handed compliment
I would like to think they would not do what the GOP has done or cross all the lines they have or feel nothing about the consequences of going further yet. Ever play someone who was a determined and practiced student but lacked something needed to win against the champ? Someone who studies the master but does not know or want to practice certain things. Maybe things they cannot even see.

This is a corrupted system. If decent people accept this a legitimate and think that is just the cost of getting good people in power they are corrupted as much as possible and lose as much as the game determines with no credit given to the voters transcending the game or the occasional self collapse of the truly ruthless and decadent.

The premise above matches this to a T regardless of how far they go or how corrupt or wrongly they behave. It really won't matter much. As far as the Clintons are concerned it is likely an opposite perspective. If they win and get in by the repugnant means it won't matter so long as they get to rule responsibly and well. They are so fundamentally wrong on all counts that the nexus of all arguments will end up in the perfect point of tragedy. Overreaching is the word, not doing what it takes for the best results for all. Overreaching will define the conclusion of all this stretched out consistently losing effort. It may not look like losing but even state wins are evidence of numbers crumbling from needed heights of high polls to win in November. All efforts now are not only meaningless but explanatory signs of how this fall is only earning defeat by the merits and the illogic and the clinging weak dirt(whether sourced by anti-Clinton GOP media or their own campaign).

5.  This is why I love Chris Rock
