How Iran Has Bush Over a Barrel
TIME / ROBERT BAER

If wasn't clear before it should be now: the Bush administration can't afford to attack Iran. With gas already at $4 a gallon and rising almost every day, Iran figuratively and literally has the United States over a barrel. As much as the administration is tempted, it is not about to test Iran's promise to "explode" the Middle East if it is attacked.

The Iranians haven't been shy about making clear what's at stake. If the U.S. or Israel so much as drops a bomb on one of its reactors or its military training camps, Iran will shut down Gulf oil exports by launching a barrage of Chinese Silkworm missiles on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and Arab oil facilities. In the worst case scenario, seventeen million barrels of oil would come off world markets.

One oil speculator told me that oil would hit $200 a barrel within minutes. But Iran's official news agency, Fars, puts it at $300 a barrel. I asked him if Iran is right, what does that mean?

"Four dollar a gallon of gasoline only reflects $100 oil because the refiners' margins are squeezed," he said. "At $300, you have $12 a gallon of gasoline and riots in Newark, Los Angeles, Harlem, Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit, Dallas."................

2. I disagree. Like most ofthe rest of Bushler's "mistakes" this is an anticipated outcome
for them.

$12 gas keeps the Plebes and Proles off the roads, where we shouldn't have been in the first place, according to the Bush Philosophy.

Riots in major cities? A WONDERFUL chance to break out those Police State laws and try out those great new tasers, Microwave Pain Rays, and all the rest of the Bushies' "non-lethal" arsenal that they have simply been ITCHING to use against us. And some of the lethal ones, too, especially if it looks like the Bushies are losing their grip on the frightened beaten groveling Amerikan Subject Populace.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Bushies LAUGH when they hear their Toady Media talking about their "mistakes" and "blunders" which were never any such thing.

Yeah, what a "blunder" letting New Orleans drown, and what a "blunder" that it has resulted in Lousiana becoming a Bushie stronghold once those troublesome Negroes had their remianing housing detroyed, bulldozed, then a little taser shock or two to hammer the point home.

Yeah, a terrible terrible blunder for those Bushies.

3. The only way to avoid a Dem landslide is to become a dictatorship
suspend elections, erect a police state...and rule as the Pharohs did

Its set up already.....

4. You sure about that? I'm not. When you add in the propaganda, even after seven years
it is still as strong as ever and the Toady Media may even be weaker (with a few notable exceptions like KO) than it was in 2000.

then add in the many Bushie Voter Disenfranchisement schemes, the manual ones, anyway, and see that much of it is now openly performed without fear of reprisal, from voter caging to denying Democratic districts machines, and everything in between.

Add that all up, plus the electronic disenfranchisement and vote-stuffing,and I am not so sure McCain does win in a landslide in the "counted votes", and it doesn't matter who 60% of us vote for.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. I can appreciate that you are fired up for a big landslide victory, which, if Amerika was still a member of the Free World, might be as assured as you think it is.

But I cannot believe it until I see it. 2006 showed the Congress is a useless appendage, like in Imperial Rome. Amerikan Emperors might pay attention to Congress, but only because they WANT to, not because they HAVE to.

And that, as I am sure the original Tom Paine would say, makes all the difference.

I have a strong feeling that it's going to be a Stolen Election Festival, as I am sure 2000, 2002, and 2004 were. I also suspect 2006 was the same but the Democratic Landslide barely overcame the 5-8% Bushie "head start" that is now a part of the system.

Theyw ill be stepping up efforts this November. The October Surprises will be more shocking, more fear-inducing (whatever they turn out to be, we'll know 'em when we see 'em) than the two Bush-Bin Laden videos they released two days before the 2004 "election". The electronic disenfranchisment will be more bold and certain. The manual disenfranchisements, now that more than a few ofthem are aided and abetted by Nazi/Bush Law and crooked Nazi/Bushie "judges", will be even more obvious.

And the Toady Media will be in overdrive with excuses, calming everyone down a writing a plausible backstory to fit with the theft. God Forbid they should investigate...someone might miss a tee time.

Anyway, my apologies for flying in the face of your enthusiasm. But I call it as I see it, and in this particular case, I won't believe certain things until I see them.
