We can't let this filthy topless 'joke' from this titular leader just go away in a few days
John McCain clearly knew it was a topless voyeurism event for the biker crowd at Sturgis, there is no other reason to bring up the 'beauty' contest except to get a big approval of 'he's one of us' from the crowd on hand. It is very possible that Cindy McCain had no idea, however, seeing as she'll do anything to get in the White House (marrying John McCain), anything is possible.

As MANY have indicated on here in the past 24 hours - if this were Senator Obama, with Michelle next to him and saying the same thing, they would be running this on the news cycle for weeks saying how anti-female and immature he is - and sadly, this came from a mature (cough) man of 70+ years of age about his middle-aged wife who was standing right next to him!

Seriously, saying your wife should enter the topless event so she can be called Miss Buffalo Chip??? How bawdy and disgraceful! The churches should be buzzing about this, and really, it's our job to make sure they do over the next few months - it's a serious point of contention that McCain doesn't have the mental state of mind and maturity to be president of the United States of America.

If she had any respect for her gender, she'd have grabbed him by the ear and pulled him aside (ANY of the times he's been verbally abusive about women or her) and said to straighten up and quit making an ass out of them, or she's leaving.

                 to the two of them.

1. What's even worse - the poster I saw said the event is sponsored by Miller Beer, not Bud!

I just realize I posted this in editorials! ha... I was reading about the Anthrax/WSJ report and misposted in the wrong forum... I guess it's my own editorial on the Sturgis event. :)

16. I doubt he or the daughter realized what sort of beauty contest it was
Yes- McCain is an idiot. He doesn't think before he speaks. I'm sure his daughters and wife are either feeling pretty icky right now OR they are laughing at his latest fuck up.

I'm pretty sure he didn't mean to sound like he wanted to parade his wife naked in front of 50,00 bikers.... but it's just one more reason he is unfit to lead. He just spouts off without a thought. Can you imagine that in the international scene? He would be insulting leaders all of the world without even meaning to.

9. I have a list of thousands of emails
I send to them every few months, and will do so before the election with one short argument as to why mcsame is a horrible thought to be president. alternately - there are thousands of email addresses to churches out there that could be sent the video by itself, and no commentary. it will encourage them to not even speak on mcsame's behalf as the churches have a bad habit of doing before an election. I also think if WE all keep united and write newspapers, call TV shows and voice our opinions like on the Cafferty File, we truly can persuade many people. I'm not a quitter.

12. video of that?
exactly. there isn't any. if there was it would totally destroy him. a couple of reporters were asking him questions, and his wife interjected about his thinning hair, and he snapped that at her. I wish they wouldn't be cowards and would say, yes, he did do it, and say they were there. They remain anonymous.

she does NOT want to be in the White House and she won't say anything in her defense because that piece of shit husband of hers has bullied her for decades

13. I'm with ya
We need to push this like pit bulls.

It's McCain's basic disrespect in doing this, that bothers me. He's ridiculing any First Lady. To suggest that any First Lady might be Miss Buffalo Chip is downright anti-patriotic. It's disgusting. It's like flinging crap in all our faces. Picture Cindy the rodeo queen's statue in our museum, in the line of First Ladies with Jackie Kennedy. It makes me wanna... something I won't say.

I wonder if some of the vets there might have a pang of conscience about just the image of seeing a potential First Lady there, in those surroundings, and treated that way? Maybe not many, but I bet there will be some.

14. The *last* thing I want to see is cindy mccain topless.
Just the mental image is bad enough. Her looks really, really creep me out. I guess I'd better get used to her, though.

15. the mccains will try and pass it off as a joke
but I think BOTH of them need to be reminded that talking that way about the potential First Lady is no laughing matter and is disrespectful to ALL American women.

18. It obviously WAS a joke - but that is no excuse. Boorish behavior is boorish behavior.
And McCain is creating quite a video trail of boorish behavior that a Dem 529 should be able to use to create some devastating ads. For starters they could do one juxtaposing McCain's "joke" with actual video footage of the Miss Buffalo Chip contest.
