The Dishonesty of David Brooks (E&P)
By Greg Mitchell

(October 09, 2008) -- Love her or hate her, you have to admit, at least Sarah Palin tells us what she really feels. In contract, David Brooks' dishonesty is frightening ...

Last Friday ... following the vice-presidential debate, Brooks wrote of Palin, ..."... By the end of the debate, most Republicans were not crouching behind the couch, but standing on it ..."...

... Flash forward three days later. Interviewed at a New York City event unveiling the new design for The Atlantic, Brooks suddenly admitted, speaking of Palin, that she was not "not even close" to being ready to be vice president ...

It may or may not surprise you to learn that Brooks has not written a word about why the selection of someone "not even close" to be being qualified for vice president by a 72-year-old cancer survivor might disqualify John McCain from Brooks' consideration for his support ...

3. Brooks' opinion is about as meaningful as . . .
. . . the run-of-the-mill freeper. He lost all honesty years ago. His justifications for his positions are laughable. He ignores the obvious (such as the fact that Palin is considered a laughingstock by most Americans and the entire rest of the world.) At least George Will can be honest - he's still worth paying attention to. Brooks is lost.

4. Has David Brooks ever been right about anything?
Has he ever had his finger on the pulse of the zeitgeist?
No! Never!

I cant figure out why Brooks is on my TV.
Except that he makes a pretty good mannequin for those empty suits he wears.
