2. But the last line says it all. |

"A 72-year-old with skin cancer, a bad temper and a hockey mum waiting a heartbeat away on the bench, now that's frightening."

3. Obama is going to win. No amount of spinning will get McCain this job. |

It's over except for the voting. I'm a proud Obama supporter and I don't listen to those who fear monger. Change is going to come and Obama is going to get it all started. :bounce:

"'Cause when life looks like Easy Street, There is danger at your door."
- lyrics from Uncle John's Band.
Not saying this author is correct in his assumptions, but to be wary even when things look good is not bad advice, IMO.

5. No, "wariness" and hopelessness are what have defeated us in the past |
|

The GOP uses it -- discouragement is their chief weapon against us. Hope is empowering ... "wariness" is not.

by stupid GOP tricks, and by their endless insistence on "keeping their powder dry", and other such losing tactics.
Don't blame others for your failure. That's what the GOP does, as well. You can be hopeful and still keep a watchful eye out for trouble.
By all means, celebrate, be happy, but just know that barbarians are still at the gate, and this election will not change that. Quite the opposite, in fact. If they lose, they'll be coming back with a vengeance. That's how they work. And the dems need to prepare for this, and be ready to fight back when it does come, rather than caving and capitulating -- seemingly operating under the belief that if they just play nice that the rethugs will play nice back.
That is a fatally flawed assumption, IMO.

8. For OUR failure? This is a Democratic board ... if you aren't one of us, you shouldn't be here |
|
And if you knew anything about psychology and psyops, you would know discouragement is the #1 weapon in their arsenal. I've been studying the BFEE for twenty years.

10. I've been studying them for longer than that |

and I'll thank you to break off any further personal attacks.
I'm not saying that people should be discouraged, simply that they should be conscious of who the adversary is, and acknowledge that they still exist, and to meet them on the field with equals ferocity, rather than ignore them and party on.

I'm criticizing your comments not you.
Look, you've been all over the board today fanning the flames of discouragement in your posts. I'm very active in vote theft issues. No one is blind to it but at the same time, constantly predicting defeat is a useless and pointless endeavor.

and I've made three or four posts this morning on various topics, so you can stop with the "fanning the flames of discouragement" thing.
Oh, and even if I WERE doing that, which I most certainly was not, I AM entitled to my opinion, even if you don't agree with it. :hi:

We know the GOP and its innate criminality too well to relax.
What we have is hope not blind optimism.
I'll edit to point this out again -- world class athletes NEVER envision failure. They always see themselves winning. We need to embrace that concept. It's what the Reptilicans always do.

15. I've resisted being too optimistic... |
|
Ten days before the election, I might start to feel more positive, but we've still got a debate left, an October surprise and all kinds of e-mail, court and Fox News shenanigans to endure. If I hear Fox News report the lies yet again that Obama "began" his political career in the home of a domestic terrorist, I think I'm going to scream.
