McCain’s Gift to the GOP, Palin the Time Bomb?
Why did John McCain pick Sarah Palin, anyway? Could he have had a long range goal of crippling the religious right? I’ll believe that if he goes back to his old self, the bipartisan pragmatist. Still, if Sarah Palin continues on her course, she will gain strength and then shoot herself and the extremist Christian mullahs in the foot, hopefully in 2012.

1. McCain picked Palin to appeal to bigots. Too bad for him there were less than he thought.

3. Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving
Nuts enough to be nominated by the
GOP screwball base, totally unelectable
in a general election.

If there needs to be a symbol for the
political collapse of the Republican
Party, Mooselini is it.

5. McCain picked Palin to steal Obama's headlines the day after Obama's speech to the Democratic
Convention.

It was a great tactic. Terrible strategy. And McCain later tried to lecture Obama on the difference between tactics and strategy. There's no fool like an old fool.

7. I never tire or Palin as "backfire" to the Repugs stories...

8. Gloating?
Is that a bad Christian thing or something? Or is it wrong according to your own ethics?

I'm fine with a little gloating. She's made her bed, as has the right wing whack jobs who follow her.

13. I hope you're right. I don't see a way the GOP can hold onto religious right AND get swing votes
anymore.
