GOP opts out of bipartisanship
Edited on Thu Jan-29-09 10:36 AM by BirminghamExaminer
The GOP is in shambles. The House Republicans are playing to their conservative base when it is all the GOP has left. The Congress has about a 20-30% approval rating while the President has a 70% approval rating. It seems apparent that the GOP hasn't figured out that the economy crisis they led us into is more important than appealing to the conservative base.

1. Hi BE and welcome to DU
I'm a neighbor over in Mississippi. Your last sentence wacks the ole nail on the head. However, I would opine that they would not take responsibility for what happened the last eight years because conservatives never take responsibility on anything. If you are a sports type Alabaman you might want to check out the sports forum. There is an ongoing battle between the SEC against the world over there. Lots of fun.

2. I would like to see the day when
their entire Conservative Base tells them to piss off.

Basically, they got used. Twice in 8 years.

That the GOP have any approval rating in the positive numbers is just incredible to me, but I guess there will always be sick people in this world who don't mind being used and liking it. "OOOH yeah...kick me, beat me, give me MORE!!!"

blech

3. From bush to rush
They'll follow whoever they're told to follow. Ape whoever they're told to ape. It's unimaginable to me that they've substituted bush for rush, but I guess they haven't realized yet that they've hit rock bottom. Some people are just too stupid to live.
