On Liberal Bias — Not Just Stephen Colbert Being Funny Anymore |
|
We all know that conservatives see liberal bias in everything, and Bernard Goldberg has made a career out of spouting off about this or that liberal bias. But who knew he would echo Stephen Colbert, who famously said, humorously, that “reality has a well-known liberal bias?” Goldberg’s claim, though, is about the Dictionary. http://allspinzone.com/wp/2009/03/20/on-liberal-bias-not-just-colbert-being-funny-anymore/

1. If liberals wrote the dictionary, I'm sure we could come up |
|
with a WAY better definition of the word republican, just to name one.

Spell check wants to change it to "Sanitarium".

14. And don't forget - the ORIGINAL Republican Party was VERY Liberal!!! |
|
These repukes today should be FORCED to disassociate themselves from Lincoln and everything he stood for...
What I'd like to see reported more often is how the Democratic and Repuke parties came to "switch"...

10. Goldberg reveals his motivation for claiming the Dictionary is liberal |
|
"Nevertheless, Goldberg, the self-appointed authority, insisted, “it simply means a black person.” Then, like Mason, he used it to attack blacks whom he euphemistically referred to as a group who “sees itself as victims and derives its power from victims. If you’re in that group, this is a good thing.” Next, Goldberg took a swipe at those Jews who might disagree with him. “White liberals hear that word and they go nuts, including Jewish white liberals.”
<snip>
"Goldberg’s answer? “Forgive my arrogance. The dictionary is written by some liberal person.”
I don't believe Goldberg sees himself as a victim, but his argument is weak, so he's cynically trying to draw power by claiming that his argument is a victim. If you can't argue with English, change the meaning or motivation behind the language.
In short, Goldberg practices what he criticizes blacks for doing.

He's a Republican and always whining about liberal bias. The bias, as he sees it, is victimizing him.

than sincerely feeling like a victim, those are crocodile tears.
It's sort of like those oligarchs screaming class war in protest after having successfully waged class warfare against the poor and middle income class at least since Reagen's time, if not before.
