Republicans, Operation Rescue in Trouble

Domestic terrorist Scott Roeper has enough ties to Operation Rescue that the organization spent yesterday trying to scrub its web site in preparation, I suppose, for an investigation with RICO implications. The GOP is in trouble also, but politically. Independent voters will not look kindly at bullying Sotomayor in light of this terrorist act.

6. I find it hard to believe they tried to scrub their site

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that there will be a cache trail left, and that you can never really "erase" a site, at best make it harder to uncover.

Also, they started the day off with a message denouncing Tiller's murder. It wasn't until later in the day that the site went down.

In the meantime, the suspect was found with OR's phone number on a postit on his steering wheel.

It seems at least equally, if not more, likely that the feds shut down the site to search it for evidence against the suspect *and*, in light of Holder's protection annoucnment, to identify targets in need of protection.

I understand from one source the Tiller pages were missing before the site went down.

8. There is no doubt in my mind that he likely did not act alone. And OR is a likely place to start

looking for accomplices. At the least, I would be surprised if he did not discuss his plans with someone. They can scrub their website all they want, if the Feds have any computers Roeper used they can trace his web and internet activities.
