David Hawpe, editor of Louisville's Courier Journal, has outlined the college's sorry record in this stinging editorial, "A lesson in love at University of the Cumberlands." The dubious role of a state senator is mentioned.

snip> "Now this same University of the Cumberlands is in the headlines again, after abruptly jerking an invitation to a youth group from Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, which had planned to come build homes for the poor. And why the rebuff? Because the student-volunteers' church recently was kicked out of the Southern Baptist Convention, for acting to "affirm, approve or endorse homosexual behavior."

1. They expelled a male theater major for being gay? |
|
I wonder if the school still has a theater department.

Sad that they would deny people help in the region that this youth group is willing to give, just so that they can show their hate.
The only value people like this have is hate. They don't care if the poor get any charitable help because hate is so much more important.
And the way they spied online on a student a few years ago so that they could expel him for being gay was incredibly sick. This kind of religion is a cancer on society.
