Reopening Emmett Till case may not bring closure
Emmett Till's murder is symbolic of the daily injustices black men and women endured during the Jim Crow era. The agency can bring a few old racists to justice, but it will be unable to change that history. The criminal justice system failed Emmett then. And the system continues to fail men and women like him today.
