Lockheed Martin to grow its empire...

I am sure the Cheney clan is entirely pleased. Obviously, we should all be concerned with the news below:

"Lockheed Martin Corp will likely make more acquisitions in 2010, focusing on areas such as cybersecurity, energy security, logistics support and intelligence surveillance, the company's chief executive said on Monday.

<snip>

"Speaking at the Reuters Aerospace and Defense Summit in Washington, Robert Stevens said: "When we look to the future of cybersecurity, we are all just scratching the surface of the demands that will be placed on all of us to secure the databases, the networks, the information technology environment that we have.

"Stevens also said the company remained interested in healthcare information technology. "We all recognize the cost of healthcare continues to escalate," he said."

Yes, because we all want a defense, war contractor (death) to be involved with health care (life). ... http://www.atlargely.com/atlargely/2009/12/lockheed-martin-to-grow-its-empire.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+typepad%2Flariska%2Fatlargely+%28at-Largely%29&utm_content=My+Yahoo

2. I'm sure they are attacted to the shiny new
multi-hundred-billion dollar cost plus award fee contract the government has just proposed (and may soon adopt).

Defense contractors LOVE cost plus contracts. Love the shit out of them

3. The ultimate pig in this town...
I swear...the big contracting companies decide on more than the actual departments do.

and the end product is usually inferior.
