Watching the Republican response to the SOTU speech last night I was aghast at the audacity of the newly elected governor of Virginia quoting Thomas Jefferson out of context. But more disgusting was watching the camera's response to Alito when Barack Obama rebuked the SCOTUS for its inane decision to recognize corporations as individuals. Before the speech, my friend Gene Lyons already had written this fine piece about what it entails and means. It was published today.
