1. good speech . . . I hope the graduates take it to heart . . .

admitting that we, as a nation, can be wrong is something we have a really hard time doing . . . and when our "leader" says things like "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists," he negates any thoughtful discussion of alternative ways of looking at things . . . nothing is black and white as BushCo would have us believe . . . the world consists of infinite shades of gray, and BushCo's weakness is their inability -- or, more precisely, their refusal -- to acknowledge that reality . . . when you base your policies entirely on a religious ideology that is merely one of many in the world, bad things are bound to happen . . . as they have, and as they will, until we can remove these ideologues from office . . .
