Clarkies...Has this article been discussed?
Edited on Sun May-23-04 01:00 PM by DemCam
A friend just sent me this article from the June Atlantic Monthly...

Below is the the reference to Clark's Campaign systematically placing stories that destroyed the Dean Campaign. Do any of you know if this is true or not. Somehow, I have questions here.

"Against this growing uncertainty the Clark campaign set off a barrage of stories portraying Dean as hypocritical, dishonest, and incompetent. According to interviews with reporters, producers, and campaign staffers, these are some of them. (Lehane and Holzer, citing promises of confidentiality to reporters and producers, would neither confirm nor deny that these stories originated with the campaign.)"

Apologies if it has already been discussed. If so, please tell me the thread.

1. The stories Clark's people gave to the press
Edited on Sun May-23-04 12:58 PM by Kerryfan
did not contain the words "hypocritical, dishonest or incompetent". They pointed out differences between what Dean was saying on the campaign trail and what he had said or done as governor. That is fair play as far as I am concerned. I don't see how it can be called dirty tricks. And I would say that no matter who is on which end of the so called " dirty tricks ".

2. Thanks, Kerryfan,
For some reason, the take just reeked, to me, of pseudo-journalism, and I was wonderfing why.

3. Does anyone have any more information?
I would like as much as I can get. I'm holding a housemeeting tonight with former Clark supporters who are now researching John Kerry.
