Several incidents recently at two Ventura County college campuses served as uncomfortable reminders of the stupidity and hatefulness of some people in our community.
This month, anti-Semitic and sexual slurs have been scribbled on 20 cars and in dorms on the California Lutheran University campus in Thousands Oaks. The hateful messages included a swastika scrawled on the dorm window of a Jewish student.
At CSU Channel Islands in Camarillo, a swastika was found scribbled in a men’s restroom. Police are investigating. So far, no connection has been made with the CLU incident ...
The recent incidents here in Ventura County mirrors hate incidents at other California college campuses, namely UC San Diego where students openly mocked Black History Month and a noose was found in the campus library, and at UC Davis where anti-gay graffiti and swastikas were found ...
