i've always thought that a stupid saying too. also, these assholes saying stuff like that about the jobless are vile heartless scum. they probably don't even know what a bootstrap is and they sure as hell didn't work 40-60 hours a week at minimum wage just to end up getting laid off AND then get told they are lazy. vile. heartless. scum.
