Forbes: Why The WikiLeaks ‘Cyberwar’ Is A Sideshow |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 01:22 PM by indimuse
The hordes of young vandals waving the WikiLeaks flag continued their digital pillaging Thursday morning. Their latest target: Amazon.com, which the hacker group Operation: Payback vowed to attack in retaliation for the company’s exile of WikiLeaks from Amazon’s data centers last week. “TARGET: WWW.AMAZON.COM !!!,” read an announcement from the group on its twitter account, planning its attack for around 11am. here: http://blogs.forbes.com/andygreenberg/2010/12/09/why-the-wikileaks-cyberwar-is-a-sideshow/?boxes=Homepagelighttop<snip> http://nation.foxnews.com/dyncorp/2010/12/08/wikileaks-texas-company-helped-pimp-little-boys-stoned-afghan-copedit to add: ((original source))) http://www.facebook.com/vivaassange?v=wall

1. So if they're the "vandals," then Forbes speaks for Imperial Rome? |

Forbes? The name alone oozes upper echelon - no admittance to the commoners.

4. You have to admire the manipulative wording |
|
when you parse it and note the strong biases and intentional framing.
That piece reeks of agitprop. Nothing to see here, just a SIDESHOW. Oh, how one can pick that drivel apart.

--the age may change but when the TBTB get their cages rattled too much...and their perfectly controlled world is rocked of its pedestal they come after those that challenge them with a vengence.

6. Note, technically, Anons are NOT hacking |
|
Note, technically, Anons are NOT hacking their targets, merely inundating them with service requests (the list of individuals' MC numbers claimed to have been hacked and published by the group was a fake); and the concerted attacks by Anons began only after similar attacks on the Wikileaks site (the sources of which remain as yet unknown). MSNBC and others, however, continue to refer to the Anons as hackers and to characterize them as a dangerous mob.
The group is only loosely organized, but as far as I know, they've made no concerted attack except against entities they believe to have acted in bad faith.
Last I read, the group was split on whether to attack Amazon, so that wasn't happening.
