Leonard Pitts Jr.: Soon, an app reveals all -- name, address, phone, e-mail
via the Detroit Free Press:

BY LEONARD PITTS JR.
THE MIAMI HERALD

So, let's say there's this truly fine individual standing there across the room and you'd like his or her name, number, and e-mail address, but you don't want the hassle of walking over and risking rejection.

There's an app for that.

Well, not yet, but eventually there will be.

CNN reported last week that Google is at work on a facial recognition application that would allow you to snap a portrait of a given somebody with your cell phone and receive that person's name and contact information. The function would be added to Goggles, an existing application that allows users to snap a picture of an object or building and have it identified. ..........(more)

4. What a boon for burglars.
Sporting events, airports, theaters...

Wow! Think about it.

This one should be banned.

5. This makes no sense...
"..you'd like his or her name, number, and e-mail address, but you don't want the hassle of walking over and risking rejection."

Once you find out the person's name, number, and email address, whose to say s/he still won't reject you? Is being rejected by phone, or email any less humiliating?

.

7. scary, isn't it?
I posted this last week and the general consensus then was that it might be horrible, or it might make it easier to get a date...your choice.
