Most of the polls in America are showing that people of all political parties are currently agreeing on most of the policies that many of us on DU have been advocating for years. 1) Increasing taxes on the wealthy and corporations 2)Getting America out of the Imperial wars all over the country. 3)Providing health care to all Americans 4)Returning the government to the people and many other policies. Is this the right time for us, the American people to start (possibly) demonstrating or uniting in some peaceful way to retake our country and demand these changes? I think there will be no better time. Yes, the government can and does create jobs, both directly and indirectly through policies that force the corporations to stop outsourcing. We CAN impeach SCOTUS members and have "Citizens United" repealed while removing, provably corrupt SCOTUS members. The people now seem to realize that no matter what political party they "represent", our politicians largely, really represent corporate and elite interests, mainly because of the Citizens United decision. I think, "we are there", after reading, even freeper sites, then and now. There seems to (finally) be a "great awakening" by our citizens that we have become a "Wall Street" and MIC government. If we can just find a way to unite to fight the common enemy which is greed, we, all of us, can change things and get our country back on the right track. Do you think "we are there yet?" If so, we must strike while the iron is hot...

1. Every one of these topics has been the subject of protests this week. So, yes, it is time. |

on how we can get all of the people, of different parties but with similar goals, to unite all over the country and take action?

1. Stop the polarizing conversation, and get some distance away from those who cannot stop with the hateful comments.
2. Find common ground with those across the aisle work toward a common goal. Recognize that some deeply rooted differences will have to be set aside.
3. Choose the battles to fight wisely.

4. Agreed, but since the corporate owned MSM would not |

announce it, we would need to use social networking to try and inform the people. Because, even though all of these topics have already ignited protests, IMO, we need BIG protests from people of all political ideologies. It would be great to get these demonstrations rolling, before "they" toss out a few crumbs and "satisfy" the masses....

5. You certainly can't get it started here or at Freeperville. |

Those on the political extremes are not interested in the middle (common) ground. Those people are unapproachable.
We'll have to appeal to those who have fled DU, FR, etc for more neutral ground.
