An Asprin A Day May Keep Melanoma at Bay
Edited on Thu Jun-23-11 02:41 PM by Stuart G

MSNBC,

An aspirin a day may keep melanoma at bay, a new study suggests.

After scrutinizing the medical records of 1,000 people, an international team of researchers have determined that the risk of melanoma was cut by almost half when people took a daily dose of aspirin for at least five years.

“Our data at least support the hypothesis that long-term steady aspirin use has an effect,” said study co-author Dr. Robert Stern, a professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School and chief of dermatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

Previously, the only melanoma prevention advice cancer experts could give was for people to stay out of the sun and get their skin checked for early warning signs of the disease. If melanoma isn’t detected early, it can be deadly.

but the doctor doesn't say for sure to take it for cancer, You would have to read the chapter...
Me, I take it to prevent heart disease..and I guess that is important because I already had surgery on me for that...Lately, got some joint pain..sometimes the aspirin works on that , sometimes not. I know that the xpensive stuff for joint pain costs a dollar or two a pill, this stuff a penny or two

10. I read an article a couple of years ago
that showed a correlation between thinner blood and resistance to cancer or curing cancer. I cannot find the article now unfortunately. If this was true, it might explain why aspirin could "keep Melanoma at bay".

I cease to be amazed at the many benefits of aspirin.
