OK, so Michele Bachmann has migraines.

Lots of people have migraines. Fair enough.

But how many of them have the "choot-spa" to spend years on end bemoaning the evils of "Obamacare," and then produce a clean bill of health from a nearly free, government provided, state-of-the-art, on-site medical clinic?

That's right. The doctor who wrote Bachmann her note is from the Congress's own Office of the Attending Physician, which I told you a little bit about a while back, when Andy Harris (R-MD) was the one whining about matters of personal health.

Lawmakers receive top-notch, wait-free care, and money is largely no object. Members pay a flat annual fee of $503, and it covers all expenses -- without submitting claim forms to their insurer. Despite soaring costs throughout the health care system, prices have been largely stagnant in the Office of the Attending Physician for 17 years.

Some lawmakers didn't pay the fee and still took advantage of OAP services.

Last but not least, let me remind you that if you're planning on being at the Capitol for today's events, please wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and antibacterial soap, and cover your mouth and nose with the elbow of your sleeve if you cough or sneeze in the presence of Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD-01), as he may well be without any health care coverage -- despite starting a new job this very day! -- and it would be a real tragedy if a guy like him had to deal with the complexities and indignities of seeking medical treatment while between coverage providers.

Well, it would be if he didn't also have access to the Office of the Attending Physician, I guess. But he does!

2. So if you get health insurance at work, is it free?

All those unions that have negotiated for benefits in addition to wages were just arranging for "free" stuff?

When my wife's university offered her a compensation package with good health insurance and a retirement package, those were free? I thought they were some kind of compensation.
