Australian Labor appoints pro-US Defence Spokesman to win back power
pro-USA/Australian Alliance MP and friend to many USA Defence officials Kim Beazley ia back on the front bench.

Beazley back on ALP's front line
July 12, 2004 - 2:45PM

" Former Labor leader Kim Beazley said he was returning to the front bench to help his party win government and use his defence credentials to fight terrorism.

Opposition leader Mark Latham today announced Mr Beazley would return from the backbenches to become the party's new defence spokesman."

1. I'm glad Beazley got off his high horse
and decided to become an active front bencher again. He should have done that straight away after Latham's accension. It should at least take the heat out of Howard/Downer/Abbott et al's constant harping about Labor being anti-US.
