Knight Ridder, deep division in Democratic party
68% of Democrats think the war in Iraq was a mistake, kerry voted to authorize the war and refuses to call it a mistake. For now Democrats are unified in their intense desire to defeat George Bush.
"There is a bit of a shell game going on", said Larry Gersten, a political scientist,"what the candidates say and what they do is often very different, that creates alienation and confusion for voters".

1. Kucinich just dropped out of the race
and he vows to go to the people to pursuade leftists to vote for Kerry. NPR added that Kucinich wants to persuade leftists that a vote for Nader will only help Repukes, and went on to mention that GOP has helped Nader get on the ballot in MI. That fact alone ought to keep any self-respecting leftist for voting for Nader, imho.

2. it's odd that the article doesn't mention this
Kucinich endorsing Kerry is highly relevant to this story, and it just happened. It's almost like there's some media blackout on Dennis.
