It neatly points out that energy conservation is both cheap and cost effective. Of course Bush and Cheney are totally opposed to the whole idea. After all if Americans were to start to use energy wisely then

- The US would be able to reduce its bill for imports

- The US economy would become more competitive.

- The US military presence thoughout the world could be reduced

- The US federal budget deficit could be cut

- The threat of terrorism might actually decline

This is the last sort of thing a 'war' President wants to hear.
