W campaign urges businesses to get their employees to vote early
This makes me sick.

http://www.thehill.com/news/090904/vote.aspx

<snip>
The Bush-Cheney campaign has emphasized to its business allies the importance of urging employees to take advantage of new rules that allow them to vote weeks before Election Day.

Trade associations and companies are heeding the call. Many, such as the Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) and The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, are poised to launch a massive effort to get pro-business voters to cast their votes in the next several weeks and not wait until Nov. 2.

Although there are no extensive data on how early voting affects results, Republican-allied strategists say that voters who cast their ballots early favor the GOP by a significant margin.

“They really encouraged people to push for early voting,” said one of the business lobbyists in attendance.
...
“We’re also providing to the bosses information that their human resources department can distribute to all company employees.”
</snip>

I guess they figure that employers can effectively pressure their employees which way to vote, and also, they can try to make sure that they vote before they have really made up their minds on their own, or have had a chance to hear the Kerry message.

Truly slimy, and anti-democratic.

1. When are the debates?? I know I heard Florida Repuke party was writing
all Fla repukes telling THEM to vote early/vote absentee because they couldn't 'guarantee' the voting machines. Guess they're onto the fact that WE are onto them and there won't be any stolen election this year...

4. Does that imply
that they are assuming millions of people who want to vote on election day, might not have their vote counted? So nice to see our fearless leader is doing everything he can to make sure we have a fair and free election.

5. Probably vote absentee and then...
go to the polls and vote illegally, counting on the Rethugs to have their votes counted twice. In other words, they'll try to stuff the ballot boxes for AWOL McPsycho!

6. And get a feel for how much they've got to do to
rig the votes, esp. on the electronic machines.
