The Dominionist church-state: the enemy within by Jerry Mazza
A pretty good primer on the W evangelical fruitcakes and their associates from Online Journal.

2. But Sheep Need Shepherds
Yes, but even 35 million sheep still need shepherds. Cut off the head and the body will die.

but isn't this beast some kind of mutant? If you cut off its head won't another one pop up in its place?

6.  Yes, it probably has several heads. They seem well entrenched.

But it is still a movement and movements eventually die. Since it is a cult form springing from Christianity it may take a bit longer. I think it would have to be exposed to daylight to kill it sooner rather than later. And that would be hard to do. Otherwise their excesses will eventually do them in.

Maybe we should start carrying holy water and wooden stakes. :D

And welcome to DU vinessa4freedom!

3. The poor and middle class "earned God's wrath by their licentiousness and
undisciplined lives."

This explains a lot. And the first paragraph includes the memo. Assuming that ,I'm still within the four paragraph rule. :D

"As to the citizenry, "Women would be generally relegated to hearth and home. Insufficiently Christian men would be denied citizenship, perhaps executed. So severe is this theocracy that it would extend capital punishment blasphemy, heresy, adultery and homosexuality." <2> Sound like yesterday's news? Well, that ain't all. Today as yesterday, Dominionism is into stealth. As stealthily as Robertson himself, distributing at an Iowa Republican County caucus this memo, "How to participate in a Political Party," which read . . .

Rule the world for God.

Give the impression that you are there to work for the party, not push an ideology.

Hide your strength.

Don't flaunt your Christianity.

Christians need to take leadership positions. Party officers control political parties and so it is very important that mature Christians have a majority of leadership positions whenever Possible, God willing. <3>

...

Yet it's estimated 35-million plus American Christians subscribe to Dominionism in the U.S., and don't even realize themselves how heretical, how seditious their goals are, thanks to the great job the televangelists and their churches did in painting a picture of an "outside enemy," a kind of spiritual al Qaeda, which in reality is the secular society we call "the home of the brave and the land of the free.
...

Just so you know, Dominionism was born in a movement called Christian Reconstructionism, founded by the late RJ Rushdoony, his son-in-law Gary North, old Pat Robertson, Herb Titus, the former dean of Robertson's Regent University school of Public Policy (used to be CBN University); Charles Colson, born again Nixon crook; Pat's political strategy guy Tim LaHaye, Gary Bauer, the gone Francis Schaeffer, and Paul Crouch, coincidentally founder of TBN, the world's largest TV network, and a battalion of bobble-head TV and radio evangelists and talk show hosts."

8. dominionists are a bigger threat than the neocons, IMO
because they empower the neocons... that is, they mobilze in a militant fashion at the drop of a hat to perform any task given to them by central command.

9. God is not amused!
I used to be a fundamentalist. Then I started to USE MY BRAIN. But at least I never subscribed to deathly, beastly Dominionism!

"The real trick was to start with the Gospels and turn the spiritual "Kingdom of God" into a real-life political empire, to be taken by force; first stop the U.S. of A.

First stop United States, second stop, Canada? Which is why I am leery of emigrating to Canada. If these crazies take power, they could have the US armed forces invade that country!

"Tossing out Jesus and his original message, "My kingdom is not of this world," the Dominionists came up with their "Gospel", sole purpose to drive Christians into politics and make world domination (as in Dominionism) happen. That's so Jesus could came back to earth, and the world table would be set for his rule by his ever-loving regents, all Judases, pockets jingling with sell-out silver."

Apparently, they tossed out another Biblical passage - 2nd Peter 3:3-4: "...there shall come in the last days scoffers.... saying, where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation..." These Dominionist clowns have decided that ever since the Apostles passed on, things have gone on just as they have since the beginning of what they call creation, and that the One they think is their Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, will NEVER, EVER, come back unless they take over the whole planet in His name and convert every person to their version of Christianity, and exterminate those who refuse to convert. Warped.

Being gay (male), they no doubt consider me as one of those to whom God has decreed to be exterminated, lest whole entire nations perish! They are Fascist and Nazi to the core.
