Big WH mistake--thought "ethical" lapses of Kerik would be overlooked!
Either the WH did not look into his background or they thought his business practices would be overlooked.
On Scarborough Country tonight tonight a pundit refered to Keriks "little' problems!! I think this will be --or should be a BIG issue--that the WH, once again tried to install people with questionable backgrounds!!!

Press Briefing by Scott McClellan
The James S. Brady Press Briefing Room

1:06 P.M. EST

.......Q If Bernard Kerik is confirmed the head of Homeland Security, he would be in charge of a department which does substantial business with Taser and other firms in which he's had a direct or indirect interests. Is this an ethical conflict of interest?

MR. McCLELLAN: We've looked into all these issues, and obviously, he'll be talking about some of these matters during his confirmation hearing. But the President appointed Commissioner Kerik because he knows he is someone who is firmly committed to helping us win the war on terrorism and make sure that we are doing everything we can to protect the homeland.

We have full confidence in his integrity and we are confident that he will take the appropriate steps necessary to make sure that there are no conflicts there.

Q But even if he is not any longer connected with any of these companies, there is still the perception that he can influence the way the department does business with them, no?

MR. McCLELLAN: We believe he will take all the appropriate steps to make sure that there are no conflicts. .......

2. Father Foudy used to say he wanted to make Three Points in his homilies.
I want to make THREE POINTS about the WH lapses (mistakes) on their appointment of Kerik.

1)Kerik fit their bill. The Goon (Texas WH gun totter) who could, if needed to, shoot the people a la Tienanmen Square without a moment's hesitation.

2)Scottie McClellan must hate his mop up the mud/spread the propaganda job..and while he looks like he is breaking no sweat when he is lying to the press seated before him .... he must be braking one big sweat before or after he gets on that stage. Scottie, dear, the goons have got your brains!

3)the Republicans made NANNY GATE a big issue when they threw down the gauntlet on clinton's first choice for AG back then ... LIKE ALWAYS, THEY NOW WANT TO HAVE IT BOTH WAYS and are calling the Kerik's Nanny problem and other ethical conflicts of interests "little". What a cackle. The WH knows it is a big problem, therefore accepted Kerik's resignation OR PUSHED HIM OUT ...despite Scottie's, and Kerik's own attorney's, assurances to the contrary.

4. lots of negitive stories came out on Kerik and the WH went on with a
"business as usual" attitude. --This is negitive mark for this term-along with the Armor story, the new stories about abuse continiing, the stories of murdering of Iraqi civilians, the infighting amongst the Repugs over the Intell bill, Santorium kids getting free schooling. ..etc......

Keep track of these!!!! Things are not all rosey for the Repugs as they would like to think!!
