The chilling day Bernie stalked Regan's son on Highway
By Andrea Peyser

Was Bernard Kerik a stalker? As the illicit romance between former top cop Kerik and publishing titan Judith Regan went down the drain in late 2002, the jilted Kerik snapped, according to people who knew them both.

He not only followed his ex-lover around town — he seemed to be following her children, two business associates of Regan's told me yesterday.

One associate, who has not seen or spoken to Regan in a year and a half, said, "She had me in her office one day, raving about how he was stalking her." That was in late 2002, long before Kerik came this close to leading Homeland Security.

"He's insane!" Regan told the associate.

1. Too bad he stepped out contention
He sounds like just the kind of guy the Repugs appreciate.

2. Something's not right here
Post pushing story that continues to embarrass Bush? Or is it more embarrassing to Giuliani, and there's another candidate Rupert wants in 08?

7. Two points:
1) In any event, it's a HUGE Greater New York story. Sells lots and lots of papers.

2) Ultimately, it's a right-wing versus right-wing story. It may not be "embarras Bush" so much as it's "stick up for Judith Regan." Regan is, after all, a very, very important national conservative figure.

3. "It begs the question, 'Why is this coming out now?' "
Because that fuckwit took Giuliani's advice and nominated a guy with more skeleton's in his closet than Strom Thurmond.

4. If someone said that Kerik once shot a man just to see him die
I doubt I'd doubt it at this point.

How much dirt can one man have?

He's really a perfect person to have joined the Bushies. His moral standards seem just as low as the rest of the Bush Crew.

5. Maybe this was a test. If Bush could have gotten Kerik through without a
squawk, then he could count on MSM being a total Bush PR Firm.

6. Judith Regan is a media mogul and is VERY VERY good friends with Murdoch
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 10:26 AM by w4rma
I don't really understand at all why Murdoch and Regan are publically destroying Kerik (and by proxy Giuliani and to a lesser extent, Bush).

9. Because now with the Repugs in control of everything
they have only themselves to feed upon.

I bet they're going to start wishing Clinton was back in office. It was so much simpler then.

16. Murdoch BANKROLLED her
I smell marching orders.

I think BushCo played this out to neuter the Rudy factor. If you recall, weecowboy was never all that thrilled with the idea of a Homeland Security Department. He wanted it to be a White House special assistant job, with no "advise and consent" issues to have to deal with. He was BULLIED into creating the department, now he's using it to neutralize his enemies (or maybe put a complacent Democrat on the sidelines while putting a republican in the Senate, the better to push his votes through--unfortunately, JoeMentum didn't go along with that idea).

Whoever gets the nod for the job, he will be completely on the leash, with a muzzle, obedient only to the regime and not the nation.

8. So this is the sort of thing it takes to make the media drool!
I know there's a lesson in all of this for the democrats. Something to the tune of if we can add a sex angle to a voter who’s been disenfranchised we could sell it.

Seriously, I can't blame the media for feasting on this man. He's a dream come true for the press in a dirty, corrupt unwholesome kind of way. Not unlike someone else we all know, only this ones wielding no power so he can't bite.

10. The question is: was there really a nanny ?
Maybe the nanny excuse was away to try and avoid the embarassment of all this..

One thing is for certain, Giuliani's stock has certainly gone down

14. Josh Marshall seriously doubts it
He thinks it was made up to distract from all the other dirt.

17. Maybe there WAS a nanny. And he "took care" of her.
Funny how she mysteriously vanished, and no one can find her now.

11. I see very little criticism of Regan in this
Does she have affairs with everyone she writes about? She knew he was married, etc., etc. Does she now become St. Regan?

15. Exactly
She is a victim to a certain extent (if she and her family were stalked), but having an affair with a married man is totally skanky. But of course since she's not a Dem, she's spared criticism for her immoral behavior.

12. Joe Tacopina is on MSNBC now defending Bernie....
odd, since he used to represent Judith Regan. Joe has a history of being the mouthpiece for 'bad' cops and Mafia types so he's the perfect choice for Bernie. Slime balls of a feather flock together or something like that.

13. He's insisting that the Nanny was REAL
...which makes me certain that the nanny business was put out there in a lame attempt to throw people off the real scent.

When the lameass prettypeople passing as news presenters are able to ask cogent questions and not get anything that passes for a real answer, it makes me think that there's something more buried in this heaping pile of Kerik shit...and it ain't a pony!!!!
