Two NYT LTTE writers say Missle Test Failure Clinton's Fault...(!?!?)
...and praise * for scrapping ABM treaty.

<http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/17/opinion/l17missile.html?oref=login>

To the Editor:

From the outset, President Bush has underscored the need for an ambitious, comprehensive missile defense comprising a variety of systems. The subject of the Dec. 15 test, the ground-based midcourse defense interceptor, represents the sole element of the less advanced system proposed by the Clinton administration.

Both testing and development of the program were severely restricted by the Antiballistic Missile Treaty until President Bush chose to remove this constraint in favor of a more multilayered approach to missile defense.
This method seeks logically to integrate assets in a variety of ways that improve the effectiveness of the midcourse defense system and explore other advanced concepts.

With this recent test, it is important to realize that the failure to launch is not a failure of the program. Indeed, self-diagnostic systems detected an error and prevented the missile launching so that the interceptor may receive a proper evaluation in the future.

The interceptor rocket did not fail but will live to see another day. When that day comes, we can then judge the maturity and capability of the system.

Will the neocons and the sheeple ever see this as the biggest Red state corporate welfare program in history? I doubt it.

1. Actually, this sort of fits in well with Brock's radio interview
yesterday.

He says the neo-cons created think tanks which put out ideas, then got into a few media markets which were not necessarily profitable for the owner, but which were then picked up as documentation by the likes of Rush, O'Reilly, etc. which in turn reached millions of listeners. A real network.

And no, I don't think they'll see it as anything but "Truth, Justice, and the American Way".

4. I'M GLAD Clinton f*cked up their missle defense dreams.
damn right...he did the right thing..I wish Clinton would have gone further with his defense cuts...he sould have tripled the amount of money slashed from the military. We don't need missle defense unless we are planning to nuke the entire planet (and that really wouldn't really surprise me under the * regime)

5. Sorry. You lost me.
I was just looking at the George C. Marshall Institute and wondering out loud if they were one of the many neo-con think tanks referred to yesterday.

2. Sad, so sad...
This project is partly about getting the U.S. beyond a nuclear threat and partly about putting all the money in this nation in the hands of so few. Remember that anybody can write a LTTE. This was probably selected and engineered by somebody directly tied up in the program. The only problem is that there are people who have to read this hype.

And Clinton...

Why would Bush be using ANY Clinton-era technology if it was faulty?

Yet another Neo-con inconsistency. The hallmark of lies and deceit.
