Rep. Rahm Emanuel (Illinois) to Campaign Chief |
|
Yay again for Illinois, He is up there with Jan Schakowsky. I am a big Jan fan. I saw him once at a rally, he's hot. I wouldn't mind being an intern anyday.
Democrats Pick Campaign Chief By THE NEW YORK TIMES
Published: January 10, 2005
ASHINGTON, Jan 9 - Representative Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, a former senior adviser in the Clinton administration, was named on Sunday as the new chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
The appointment by the minority leader, Nancy Pelosi, means Mr. Emanuel will direct the Democrats' effort to recapture the House in the 2006 midterm elections, after they suffered losses in both the House and Senate last November.
"Some people argue about old Democrats and new Democrats," Mr. Emanuel said in explaining his philosophy. "I'm a Vince Lombardi Democrat. Winning is everything."
Mr. Emanuel, who is beginning his second term, worked on the campaign committee in the 1980's before joining Bill Clinton's presidential campaign and then his White House administration.

1. This guy rocks. Watch out, there will be some fire works. |
|
He was Chief of Staff or some such title during BullShitGate/Impeachment. He is tough and battle-hardened. He certainly knows the imperative to get these guys out and won't pull any punches.

Good looking and smart, yes, and a good representative. But Rahm won't go out on a limb for Democracy as Jan consistently does. He's a Clintonite and a DLCer.

3. He's seems to be doing well as a representative |
|
but I don't think he did well on the talk shows defending Clinton. I suspected Chris Matthews and Russert put him on often because he didn't seem up to the task. I hope he will be sharper and more agressive than he was then.

I hope he's sharpened up and wisened up as well. You are right, there is no sub for Jan Schakowski (my true hero). Jan represents my district. Hooray.
