check out the spin in this AP headline (Milwaukee Journal January 9 2004)
"President Bush is planning a science base for astronauts on the moon and, in what would be an even greater leap for mankind, human voyages to Mars, officials said."

Now *'s ideas aren't just good, they're "great leaps for mankind."

1. Yeah--and they're 10 years down the road
and * cut funding to NASA.

This headline in my local rag: "Bush: Send Men to Mars, Moon".

This spin is nauseating--email them and let them know how you feel. Time to fight back.

2. I think it's a takeoff on the original quote of Neil Armstrong
"One small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind."

Or something like that ...

The only leap I want bush to take is -- uh-oh, someone in black at my door. Gotta go!

6. Yeah, my take too: overacheiving headline-writing...
...more than political commentary.
