Sick of CNN? A popular British TV news show to be shown on NWI
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 03:48 PM by Cleita
News World International, the Canadian cable station, which satellite receivers can get here is airing the British ITV News show three times a day starting today at 6:30 P.M. EST.

http://www.nwitv.com/itv/index.html

"NWI is proud to present our newest international newscast: The ITV Evening News, the most popular dinner hour news in Great Britain. Produced by ITN, one of the world's largest and most honored news organizations, the ITV Evening News attracts millions of viewers across the United Kingdom. Now you can make this newscast your dinner hour choice as well."

I get this NWI on channel 366 on my satellite, which is DirecTV. Maybe Dish and Echostar users can post their channel number for NWI.

1. Don't know where their figures are from
"The BBC's news audiences improved again last year: the Ten O'Clock News was up to 5.2 million, equalling the Six O'Clock News. All ITV1's bulletins trailed some way behind".

http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,7493,1114181,00.html

Maybe they define the dinner hour as starting at 6:30, so they don't have to compete with the BBC at six.

ITV tends to do less international news than the BBC. It's OK for British news, but has a tendency towards entertainment stories.

2. I've never seen it so I thought I would give them the
benefit of the doubt and see for myself. It can't be worse than Paula Zahn. :-)
