ABC News: Economic Reality

ABC led off w/ the Economic news. THey mentioned that many of these so called 'new jobs' are low paying, and without benefits. People are forced to take a job that pays far less than wht they use to get. Also mentioned that people have stopped looking, so a drop it looks like a drop in the unemployment rate.

They talked to one guy who went from a salary of $100,000 (Engineer I think), to a job that pays maybe $10,000 at Best Buy.

CBS pointed out on how the numbers for Oct & Nov were revised downward and that some are worrying that the 'job growth' may have hit a snag, and how jobs are still being shipped overseas.

And that guy should be lucky he got a job at Best Buy; they have 12 pages of personal profiling questions you have to answer and meet or exceed their expectations... Best Buy also prefers 32 hour weeks over full 40 hour weeks...

CBS can bash their own balls with a sledgehammer for all I care, and I could care less for Dean or Clark until after the primaries are done, which is then when I'll care for who is nominated. I only know that I want Kucinich.

6. The fellow who helped me with my countertop at Home Depot

had been out of work for a year before reluctantly accepting that job. He had a degree and previously worked 60 hour-weeks in a failed computer-related business. This is a metro area with LOW unemployment relative to the national average. Yes, some people are getting jobs, but they are not as high paying, have fewer benefits, fewer opportunities for advancement, etc.

will join the military. There's more incentive for them to manipulate desperate people into the military machine than there is for them to create decent, well-paying jobs.
