6. The Quran doesn't mention virgins OR raisins

For the record, the Quran doesn't say that martyrs will get 72 virgins when they die. It does say (and this applies to both sexes) that when people go to heaven they will be surrounded by "companions of equal age" who have "lovely eyes." IT DOES NOT SAY "72 VIRGINS!"

Incidentally, the reason Muslims don't like controversy about new interpretations of the Quran is that we believe the Quran has never been changed like the Bible has. While many people have translated the Quran into different languages, the basic text has never been changed.

Granted, I haven't read the Newsweek article, but I can only presume it's not favorable to Muslims, but is instead demeaning.
