Is this trouble for Bush? - "Fiscal Conservatives Grumbling"
I hope so

<"He (Bush) did not identify any cuts. He didn't demonstrate how in any way the actions he proposed would cut the deficit in half over the next period of time," Niskanen said.

Some conservative Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have already warned of a potential backlash against some of Bush's budget priorities unless more is done. >

1. They've been grumbling for a while

But so far it hasn't been serious enough fo rmany to break ranks. Of course they're all telling each other "But a Dim-O-Rat would spend *lots* more!!"

(Guess they slept through the Clinton administration).

2. Who are they going to vote for?

The "freedom hating, gay loving, terrorist sympathizing, pagan DemonRats"....lol...jk..

Unless there is a fiscal conservative running, he doesn't have anything to worry about.

4. If no one has come out
yet, and by that I don't mean those couple of guys who are running Repub against him, I mean big name people who could get votes, if no one has come out yet to challenge him either on the R ticket or 3rd party, the best we can hope is that they will stay home.

Maybe they'll vote constitution party?

Oh, BTW, I didn't read the article. oops, did I say that out loud?

6. Egg on your Conservative Neighbors
Tell them how sorry you are that President Bush has let them down. Tell them you can't understand the unrestrained spending by the fiscally conservative President. Ask them if it ain't down right hypocritical.

8. They'll still hug onto that albatross tight because

they will not ask for revenues to be increased. Instead this is how "Starve the Beast: Part II" begins. The revenues have been sucked out of the system, so now it's time for them to begin hacking and burning social programs and other public works programs. Eliminating all that pork that McCain is frothing about now in front of the Senate right now will lead to more unemployment in this jobless recovery--term losely applied. Unfortunately, the real pain hasn't started.

9. He's probably already telling them that all those promises he
made in the SOTU address are just for show. He's assuring them that he's going to cut everything that halps the less fortunate so there's nothing to worry about.

10. Heard a Heritage Foundation Guy today
On NPR. He used the phrase "fiscal child abuse" to describe the massive Bush deficits, which will require huge tax increases for future generations.

Being "conservative," the Heritage Foundation believes that the solution is spending cuts rather than tax increases, but the guy did admit that it would be hard to find enough spending to cut to balance the budget.

I like that expression, "fiscal child abuse," to describe the Bush economic plan. As I said in another thread, it may explain why they care so much about the Unborn -- they're going to need them to pay the debts they are running up right now.
