Bush to "unleash armies of compassion"...I feel ill...

CSPAN talking to James Towey on WJ now about faith based initiatives for prisons. OMG, I could just scream!!! These people are just utterly amazing! They appear to think that if they utter the word compassion, it makes them compassionate. Never mind their deeds. I never understood the capacity for anger that I apparently have until this fraud unleashed the Bush terror on the world.

I think I will scream---loud and long.

1. I think that he is in trouble. Apparently Rove called the faith based

support base organizations and told them to watch the SOTU.
I read that he feels that thousands of fundamentalists stayed home
and did not vote in 2000 so they will be heavily targeting
this group, even more so than the last election. I think he is losing so much support that they are trying to shore up whatever they can.

2. they are so dualistic -

good/bad. black/white. i resent them because i see them as being thinking dropouts. don't want to bother with doing the dirty work of examining ideas or themselves. how easy can it get - take a situation, drop it in the column of either good or bad, and you're done with it!

this faith based prison crap is great..the inmates who sign up get all kinds of stuff that the regular prisoners don`t get. as an added bonus,if you become a muslim you can change your name..the cons will find away to con the system for everything they can get. i`m sure it will do some guys alot of good,but for the rest, it`s a ticket out of general population

8. All this faith-based crap is really just an excuse

to direct government spending away from worthwhile, socially responsible causes. And it has this added bonus of reinforcing the belief among the non-thinking that their leader has morals.

9. I agree. They help their own only. If you want help you better

get yourself born-again and believe exactly what they tell you to. Same concept as soup kitchens where they force you to pray with them to get the soup.
The answer to this nonsense is to have ALL the faith-based groups apply for every benefit they can get out of this. There is NO WAY they want religions other than their whacky Fundie christian religion to get the cash. This will force it to court.
