Isn't this considered subverting Democracy?

If Democrats were charged with doing this, that's what we'd hear from the rightwing.....

1. Gee, whatever happened to the first amendment defenders? You know,
...the opponents of McCain-Feingold?

3. Here's a classic ...
Republican Party Chairman Ed Gillespie accuses the groups of ''skirting the law'' and wants greater scrutiny of their activities. The party's lawyers have urged the FEC to curb the groups.

"skirting the law" is that worse than breaking the fuc*ing law?

4. There wouldn't have been an "explosion of groups" had there not been...
such a radical regime installed by the rightwing radicals on the Supreme Court in 2000.

The chickens will be coming home to roost.

5. the depths of hypocricy
within the republican party just boggle the mind. just freakin' amazing.

it also always pissed me off that they equated labor unions with their fat cat contributors. like the labor unions were gonna drill in anwar, bypass epa regulations, or push us into a war to get the contracts. yea, universal healthcare and increases in the minimum wage are real dangers to the republic that must be stopped. what f*&^%$s.

6. Icons
I know this has nothing to do with the subject but how do you get those icons to the left, especially the ones displaying the logos of the candidates? I've looked everyone on DU and cannot find a link to get these. Thanks to anyone who can answer my question.

7. you want "options" at the top of a FORUM page
not a thread page.

from there you "edit profile" to include an "avatar" (pic on left)

8. Seems par for the course - right along with campaign finance reform
Money buys speech. Restrict money, restrict speech. CFR is the biggest blow to democracy in a long time. It opens the door to using legislation and the courts to shut up your opponents. I have no idea what dems were thinking when they supported this, but here it is.
